An employment tribunal has ruled that a clerical assistant sacked for alleged aggressive behaviour is entitled to unfair dismissal compensation.
According to the Redditch Advertiser, Dale Evans took legal action against MRJ Furnaces of Alvechurch after she was fired for supposed issues such as swearing and a hostile attitude towards a manager at the firm.
The company told the tribunal - which was held in Birmingham - that Ms Evans had failed to heed a warning about her conduct and was therefore sacked justly after a period of 18 months with the organisation.
However, the professional countered this claim by saying she had not acted in this manner and had also been a victim of bullying by a colleague during her time there - an issue she also claimed MRJ Furnaces failed to properly investigate.
Judge Jean Connolly subsequently ruled that Ms Evans had been unfairly dismissed and said her compensation award would be decided at a later date.
