Fatal accident to lead to damages claim?
The family of a man who passed away during a fatal accident at work may decide to launch a personal injury compensation claim on his behalf.
Mohammed Hashim died two weeks after falling through a skylight on the roof of premises owned by Quality Exhaust Supplies and Fitting Service in the Longsight district of Manchester in February 2009.
The 76-year-old was helping to fit a new advertising sign to the roof of the company's UK Autos factory when he fell and never regained consciousness.
An investigation conducted by the Health and Safety Executive established that Mr Hashim dropped a distance of around four metres to the concrete floor below and found that no action had been taken to stop him walking on the fragile part of the surface.
Recently, it emerged that Steven Allen died at the age of 23 from severe crush injuries sustained in an accident at work while he moved bags of cement for construction firm JN Bentley in Manningham.
