Wife of Glasgow Rangers owner files for divorce
The wife of a multi-millionaire businessman has filed for divorce following the couple's separation, it has emerged.
According to the Daily Record, Kim Whyte - the spouse of Glasgow Rangers owner and venture capitalist Craig Whyte - has begun legal proceedings at the Court of Session in order to end their 11-year marriage.
The couple - who have three children - have been living apart since summer 2010 and have now decided to formally end their association.
A legal expert told the news source this process could have serious ramifications for Mr Whyte's business interests, as his partner could be in line to claim around a half of all marital property.
"Mrs Whyte's lawyers will no doubt be watching financial developments at Glasgow Rangers with interest," the specialist added.
This comes after Fraser Smart of Buck Consultants indicated that many people are putting off filing for divorce until issues surrounding public sector pensions are resolved.
