Fatal accident to lead to damages pursuit?
Personal injury compensation could be sought by a family on behalf of a loved one who passed away in a fatal accident at work.

Christopher Massey died when he was hit by a piece of machinery while working a night shift at premises owned by Kimberly Clark - a global firm with 57,000 employees worldwide - in November 2007.

An investigation conducted by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) established that a dangerous part of the equipment - which is used to produce Andrex toilet roll - did not have the proper guard in place.

Consequently, when the 28-year-old looked through a gap to make sure everything was working correctly, a two-metre part of the machine struck him on the head.

David Massey, the man's father, observed: "We are still struggling to come to terms with his death - the pain will always be with us ... he had so much to live for."
