A retrospective divorce settlement of up to £1 million could be awarded to the ex-husband of a new lottery winner, it has emerged.
According to The Sun, John Leeman - the former spouse of recent Euromillions winner Angela Dawes - is seeking legal advice from experts over whether or not he is eligible for a seven-figure sum.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Ms Dawes and her new partner Dave has scooped a £101 million jackpot on the continental lottery draw and Mr Leeman is now reportedly exploring the possibility of seeking compensation.
The 44-year-old's divorce from Ms Dawes was finalised three years ago, but he claims she has since not made any contribution at all to the upbringing of their now 17-year-old son Steve.
Indeed, Mr Leeman claims his former partner told him "as far as I am concerned, you are both dead" upon the completion of their separation.
