A road traffic accident that caused a schoolboy to suffer a serious head injury has led to his family seeking compensation in excess of £300,000.
According to the Watford Observer, passenger Nathan Atkins was badly hurt during a crash involving his father's motorbike and a car in June 2010.
The 12-year-old was thrown from the vehicle and had to be rushed to the intensive care unit at the King' College Hospital in London for emergency attention, where he stayed for a period of more than three weeks.
This incident occurred when Jennifer Slavik pulled out in front of the child's father after failing to spot the oncoming motorbike.
As a result of his injuries, the youngster's High Court writ states he suffers from "cognitive, communication, emotional and behavioural" issues.
Recently, Vicki Hart was awarded £3 million in damages after she was hit by a taxi in an accident in Guisborough.
