Duncan Bannatyne is set to separate from his wife after the couple began divorce proceedings to bring their five-year marriage to an end, it has emerged.
According to the Daily Mail, the multi-millionaire entrepreneur - a star of the BBC's Dragons' Den television programme - is splitting up with his estranged partner Joanne McCue.
The couple have two children together and it is thought Ms McCue is demanding a considerable divorce settlement from the 62-year-old businessman - who has forged a successful career in the property and health club industries - before their separation is finalised.
She is reported to be asking for an allowance of some £1,000 per day from Bannatyne - who, according to the Sunday Times Rich List, is worth more than £400 million - and it remains unclear as to whether the pair signed a pre-nuptial agreement before tying the knot.
A source close to the close told the news source: "Duncan has been really upset by the break-up and has taken it quite badly."
