Increasing demand for flexible working practices in the British employment market is altering the way in which firms go about recruiting new members of staff, an expert has said.
Kevin Green, chief executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), believes that the "growing aspiration" of the younger generation in particular to have access to more flexibility is changing the country's business landscape.
Mr Green explained that this cultural shift is likely to create "huge issues" for many organisations, as they will need to adjust the way in which they both attract and retain talent moving forward.
"Employers are going to have to think about how they engage people, how they employ them [and] the different types of contractual relationships they put in place," he added.
This comes after research by Office Team revealed that more firms are offering flexible working as an alternative to monetary benefits to improve their brand.
