Industrial disease claim to be launched?

An industrial disease claim for personal injury compensation may be forthcoming after an elderly man passed away due to an asbestos-related illness.

According to the St Albans & Harpenden Review, an inquest has confirmed that Geoffrey Culverhouse died last month shortly after being diagnosed with mesothelioma, a condition that affects the respiratory system.

Mr Culverhouse, who was 80 at the time of his death, spent 25 years working as a manual engineer from 1946 and 1971, a period in which he was regularly exposed to the lethal substance.

Professionals at the Mount Vernon Hospital - which is managed by the Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - discovered Mr Culverwood was suffering with the disease in February of this year.

Following the official verdict of death of industrial disease, his family may wish to take legal action in order to claim for damages on his behalf from the man's former employer.
