A divorce between an MP and his wife is expected to be finalised in the coming weeks, it has emerged.
According to the Daily Mail, Zac Goldsmith - Conservative parliamentary representative for Richmond Park and North Kingston - is set to formally separate from his wife Sheherazade "imminently".
It is believed that the financial implications of the divorce have been sorted out between the two parties after they broke up two years ago and were granted their decree nisi in 2010.
Mr Goldsmith has three children with his wife and has admitted adulterous behaviour with current partner Alice Rothschild prior to their separation.
The news source reports a friend of the family saying: "They are very close to reaching a settlement. Zac is delighted. It means they can all move on and he is free to marry Alice."
Meanwhile, Sheherazade is said to be "relieved" that her divorce is on the verge of being completed.
