An employment tribunal brought about by a teacher following her departure from a school has concluded with her winning a case for constructive unfair dismissal.
Fiona Michie says she was compelled to resign from her position as an art tutor at Robert Gordon's College in Aberdeen two years ago when her superiors took no disciplinary action after she was locked in a storeroom by a fellow teacher, according to the BBC.
Ms Michie indicated that this colleague was bullying her but when she told governors about this, nothing was done to rectify the situation.
However, a legal battle has now resulted in her being granted an unfair dismissal ruling - something she told the news source she is very happy about.
In a similar instance recently, the Lancashire Evening Telegraph reported that Emma Metcalf, a learning support specialist, won a claim of unfair dismissal after being fired from her role at St Mary's College in Blackburn.
