A road traffic accident that left a man with a severe head injury has resulted in him being awarded a compensation settlement of £3.6 million.
Andrew Chin sustained permanent brain damage due to the negligence of a fellow road user in the summer of 2008 when he hit his head on the steering wheel of his car after a collision.
Consequently, the 39-year-old will never be able to return to work or live independently, meaning a case heard at Liverpool Crown Court ended in him being granted a multi-million pound sum to help pay for the lifelong care he is likely to need.
The accident occurred on the A55 - a highway that connects the city of Chester and Holyhead - as Mr Chin was stopped in a lay-by talking on his phone when another vehicle struck him at a speed of around 70 mph.
Michelle Chin, his wife, commented: "While no amount of money will repair the damage done, we now have a chance to move on with our lives."
