Man awarded £185k in personal injury compensation
An accident at work that left a man with life-changing injuries has resulted in him being awarded a compensation settlement of £185,000.
According to news resource Burnham-On-Sea.com, the unnamed employee was working on a project to renovate a branch of Asda by forming part of a group of labourers tasked with removing industrial fridges from the premises.
He sustained severely broken bones in his foot when he fell over after stepping on a "flimsy" piece of plasterboard, an incident that caused him five fractures in his heel.
The 55-year-old subsequently required three surgical procedures on the affected area of his body and needed pins inserted into his leg, as well as then being forced to use crutches for a period of ten weeks afterwards.
He told the news source he "fell over six feet" and "landed awkwardly" on his left heel.
Recently, Ian Burridge was awarded £4,000 after slipping over while working in an Asda store in County Durham, Chronicle Live reported.
