Employers and their members of staff must be willing to work together in order to cope with the after effects of the global economic downturn, an expert has said.
According to Phil Flaxton, chief executive officer of Work Wise UK, employees and their organisations need to pull in the same direction for a business to be successful in the current financial landscape and this could involve the implementation of practices such as flexible working.
The official from Work Wise UK - a not-for-profit organisation which aims to advise firms across all sectors on the adoption of smarter internal policies - stated that greater levels of co-operation between managers and staff has been witnessed in recent times and added that this trend needs to continue.
"We have seen a greater willingness by both employers and employees to work together to be more flexible in order to avoid massive redundancies," Mr Flaxton noted.
