Coleen Rooney may be entitled to a large divorce settlement if she and her husband Wayne decide to reach a separation agreement, an expert has said.
According to Russell Jones & Walker's head of family law Amanda McAllister, England and Manchester United footballer Rooney could find his estimated fortune of £27 million under threat due to family legislation surrounding such issues should the couple decide to split up following newspaper allegations of infidelity against him.
Ms McAllister explained that because of the fact that the Rooneys - who have an 11-month-old son - lived together for an extended period before tying the knot in 2008, this could entitle the woman to a larger-than-normal settlement.
"If they divorce, Coleen could be in line for at least £20,000 per week," she commented.
Footballer Rooney, who is 24 years old, has amassed his fortune through sponsorship deals with companies such as Nike and Coca-Cola as well as his basic salary.
