A man is claiming he was the victim of unfair dismissal and is seeking compensation.
Founder of fast-food chain Tiffinbites Jamal Hirani used to be the chief executive of Gourmet Restaurants, which owned a number of outlets including the Tiffinbites chain, This is London reports.
He alleges that he was forced from his role by colleagues in a process which saw the company close and reopen under the name V8 Gourmet Group.
The 42-year-old is seeking a payout of over £1.5 million and is preparing a high court action seeking up to £6 million based on the 30 per cent of the firm he previously owned.
Mr Hirani claims he was pushed out to make room for Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, who is known among many Britons for her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother during which she had an altercation with the late Jade Goody.
The V8 Gourmet Group declined to comment on the case.
