Boy in line for compensation after crash causes leg, spine and hip injuries
A schoolboy is in line to secure compensation after he suffered serious injuries in a road accident.
Luke Murtagh, who is now 15 years old, was running to catch a bus run by Arriva London South when the incident occurred.
The vehicle was pulling out of the bus stop when Luke knocked on the window hoping the driver would stop.
However, the driver did not stop and Luke's trousers became caught on the vehicle, meaning he was dragged under its wheels.
As a result of his injuries, the schoolboy had to undergo several operations, including plastic surgery.
He also had frequent nightmares and suffered from post-traumatic stress.
While Arriva London South - which describes itself as one of the largest bus operators in London - admitted liability in the case, it disagreed over the level of compensation that should be paid.
A future hearing will decide on the amount due.
