A manager whose boss sacked her without following the correct dismissal procedures has been awarded compensation.
During a recent tribunal, it was ruled that Jaswinder Kaur should be awarded a payout of £9,000, the Sikh Times reports.
Judge Mr David Dimbylow said that company partner at Tasty Bites Kuljit Singh failed to adhere to employment regulations when getting rid of the catering manager.
Ms Kaur lost her job last year after working for the organisation since 2004.
In January 2008, Mr Singh and business partner Kulvir Brar tool over the business, which is located in the West Midlands city of Coventry.
According to Ms Kaur's legal representatives, she was not given any written terms of her employment under the new management, which was a breach of the regulations.
In addition, they argued that if full consultations had take place with the catering manager, another person may have lost her job instead.
