Firm faces compensation claim after family suffers food poisoning on holiday
Travel firm First Choice is reportedly subject to a legal claim for compensation being made by holidaymakers who allege that they suffered from food poisoning while abroad.
A total of 11 members of the Davidson family travelled to the Holiday Village Hotel, which is situated in Sarigerme near the village of Osmaniye in Turkey, in August 2007.
They state that, during their stay, all of them became ill with a gastric illness which resulted in symptoms such as severe diarrhoea, stomach cramps and abdominal pain, the News & Star reports.
An eight-year-old who was among the party is still said to be suffering the side effects.
First Choice is said to be working with a legal team in the hope that a conclusion to the case can be agreed upon.
Commenting on her family's experience, Kirsty Davidson said: "This was the first time we had all been away together. We were all affected in varying degrees, it was an absolute nightmare.
"We all just wanted to get home."
