A worker who claimed he was unfairly dismissed from his role is waiting for the verdict of an employment
tribunal to be returned.
Neville Ayres used to work for Fuel Parts UK - a supplier and distributor of fuel and emission system components to the UK aftermarket.
He was in dispute over his holidays with the company's management, which had refused his request, stating that other workers had already been scheduled in to take the days off.
Mr Ayres said he felt "singled out" and went on sick leave suffering from depression, the Redditch Advertiser reports.
He was later suspended on full pay while an investigation was carried out and was subsequently dismissed after the company stated it doubted the sincerity of his sick leave.
During the tribunal, Mr Ayres claimed he had been sacked on a personal matter and not on his work performance, an allegation which the firm denies.
