Woman wins more than £3k after suffering injury in car park
A woman who sustained an injury while walking through the car park of her place of work has been awarded compensation.
Nursery nurse Fiona Denial fell down a pothole in the car park of Osborne House Community Nursery, which is located on Minto Road in the Hillsborough area of Sheffield.
The 24-year-old suffered soft tissue damage to her ankle as a result of the accident and was forced to take three weeks of work, the Sheffield Telegraph reports.
She also claims that her leg remained swollen for six weeks and was affected by stiffness for a number of weeks after this.
In a new development, Ms Denial has been awarded a payout of £3,750 in an out of court settlement.
Commenting on the incident, she said: "The car park has many potholes which I believe had been there for many years.
"Quite frankly it was an accident waiting to happen."
