Orphaned children seek compensation after road accident

Orphaned children seek compensation after road accident

The children of a couple who lost their lives after the motorbike they were travelling on was struck by a learner driver are taking legal action, it has been revealed.

According to reports in the London Evening Standard, musician Wayne Nicholls and his wife Jacqueline were travelling in the Enfield area of Winchmore Hill in north London when the accident took place.

They collided with motorist Monique Derazza and her instructor Barry Roberts, both of whom suffered minor injuries.

Mr Nicholls, meanwhile, died on the scene and his wife lost her life later that day.

Their children, who were aged between three and 15 when the accident occurred in June 2005, have launched legal proceedings, alleging that negligence led directly to the death of their parents.

Although no arrests took place as a result of the crash, they are seeking £300,000 in compensation.
