Priest attempts to go to employment tribunal over lost earnings
The Catholic Church is being sued by a priest over lost earnings, it has been revealed.
Joseph Creegan is taking the church to an employment tribunal after it sacked him for having an affair with a woman.
Claims of his affair surfaced earlier this year when his mistress was prompted to reveal the relationship after allegations came out concerning the 62-year-old and another woman, Anne Ogden.
Bishop Vincent Logan of Dunkeld - a small town situated in Strathtay - subsequently stripped Mr Creegan of his duties.
The former priest is attempting to claim for lost earnings through an employment tribunal.
Lawyers acting on behalf of the church have asked for more time, thus postponing the hearing.
A spokeswoman for the diocese stated that as proceedings regarding the case are underway, it would be inappropriate to make any comment on the issue.
