Kate Garraway, a presenter on morning television show GMTV, has accepted "substantial" damages in her legal battle over libel claims.
She had taken action against the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror over claims that she had committed adultery with her partner from Strictly Come Dancing, Anton Du Beke.
The TV personality instigated legal proceedings against publisher the Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), which is responsible for five national newspapers, as well as 150 regional publications and a number of websites.
Commenting on the case, Garraway said: "The way my friendship with Anton was twisted into something sordid was terribly unfair and upsetting. I wanted everyone to know that what had been written was completely wrong."
She also said that she could see no alternative other than taking the case to court.
MGN has agreed to publish apologies for the articles it printed, as well as to pay Garraway undisclosed damages and costs.
