An assistant manager from Scotland has been awarded £15,000 in an employment tribunal, the Glasgow Evening Times reports.
Kelly Ann Donachie used to work for Unique in Glasgow's St Enoch Centre, located in the centre of the city, but was sacked prior to a period of maternity leave.
Ms Donachie's claims that she had been unfairly dismissed and discriminated against on the grounds of her sex were upheld at the hearing. It was concluded that she had been victimised on the basis of her pregnancy.
Her former employers also attempted to underpay her after she worked an extra week, it was discovered.
She had originally intended to go on maternity leave at the end of May, but decided to work longer at the company's store in Paisley. Her P45, however, was dated May 13th 2006.
No one from the firm was present during the tribunal.
