Estee Lauder reaches worker settlement
A woman who had alleged that her former bosses at the perfume giant Estee Lauder had bullied her has reached a settlement with the company, according to reports in Out-Law.com.
The tribunal found in favour of the former employee and was about to award damages when she reached the settlement with Estee Lauder, the news site states.
Susy White, a business analyst who suffers from epilepsy, had taken her complaint to an employment tribunal.
She told the hearing that two senior directors at her work called her a "silly little girl" and said she "lacked a business brain" after being told about Ms White's medical condition.
A spokeswoman for Estee Lauder commented: "The company accepts the tribunal's ruling that found against [it] in this case and has taken very seriously the tribunal's judgement."
Because of the findings, the company will ensure that steps are taken to improve its management training, the representative added.
