'Bullied' worker could be in line for compensation
A business analyst with epilepsy who claims she was bullied by bosses at Aramis and Designer Fragrances, a division of Estee Lauder, has taken her complaint to an employment tribunal.
Susy White told the tribunal that two senior directors at her work bullied her, calling her a "silly little girl" and saying that she "lacked a business brain".
Allegedly, the pair began to target her after she informed them that she suffered from epilepsy two years ago. She signed off sick three months later.
The tribunal found four counts of disability discrimination proven against Aramis and Designer Fragrances and is due to rule on the amount that the company should pay out tomorrow (September 6th).
Experts believe that Ms White may be in line for a six-figure settlement.
Recent figures released by the Tribunals Service suggest that the number of cases brought to employment tribunals in 2006-07 has risen by 15 per cent from 2005-06.
