Tree surgeon awarded £15k compensation for fall
A trainee tree surgeon has been awarded around £15,000 in compensation after suffering an accident at work, it has been reported.
The unnamed 21-year-old incurred his injury when he fell from a tree during the course of his work, according to a report from Legal & Medical.
As a result of the fall of around six feet, the man suffered broken ribs and fractured his arm.
Photographic evidence reveals that the fall had occurred because of employers had failed to take adequate safety measures.
In particular, the evidence revealed that the metal safety links that should have secured his harness had become damaged and as a result were no longer capable of holding the man in place.
The claimant took five months to recover from his injuries.
