Man hurt after car collision
A 20-year-old has been seriously injured after being struck by a car in Wiltshire.
The pedestrian was hit by an orange Nissan Primera on the A420 Oxford Road close to Longcot junction at 01:00 GMT on Saturday.
Both parties were heading in the direction of Swindon when the incident occurred, with some claims that the man was walking in the road.
The man is believed to have suffered severe head injuries and is being treated at a specialist unit in Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital.
Sergeant John Ellis, from Abingdon Road Police, is looking for help from the public.
"We are appealing for anyone who saw the collision or who saw the man or the car prior to the collision to come forward to help us establish what happened," he said.
The incident follows the death of 15-year-old Charmaine Pearce, who was struck by a car along the same stretch of road in January.
