2018: Your Safest Year Yet

A new year is the perfect time to make a resolution, goal or promise for the year ahead. We all make resolutions to make the upcoming year our best yet and from large scale life changes to more minor adjustments, New Year's Resolutions can be great for the body and mind.

Although making changes is always a good thing and setting ambitious targets is great, you always need to make sure you’re staying safe whilst you do them. For example, if you’re planning to boost your fitness levels and see more of the great outdoors make sure you’re prepared with the right clothing and plenty of water. Or if you’re planning on doing up your house this year make sure you’ve undertaken all the vital checks for things such as asbestos and mould.

We surveyed 2,000 respondents to find out just how seriously they take their safety when undertaking their New Year’s Resolutions. Only 5% of the people we surveyed said they thought about health safety when undertaking previous resolutions and only 32% said they think about health and safety on a daily basis. Therefore with 44% of people saying they had set themselves a goal at the start of the new year, it’s time to start thinking about our safety.
