Food Poisoning Outbreak at Hotel Samoa in Mallorca
There have been many recent cases of food poisoning reported at Hotel Samoa on the east coast of Mallorca.
For the families and couples who became ill from food poisoning in Mallorca, it has ruined their time abroad.
One couple had plans to go out for the night to celebrate their wedding anniversary when the food poisoning struck. The vomiting and diarrhoea was so persistent and painful that it forced the wife to spend the next 36 hours in bed. It totally spoiled the holiday for the married couple.
A family from Leicester noticed undercooked food and flies over the snack bar’s burgers. Their son and daughter became very ill with vomiting and diarrhoea from food poisoning on the third and fourth day respectively of their two week holiday. The daughter had to go to the hospital in an ambulance where she was put on an IV drip for 24 hours. After arriving back at home, they remained upset about the holiday, which the children had really been looking forward to.
Another family from Newcastle-upon-Tyne said that the Hotel Samoa needs a serious wake-up call. They too were struck with what they described as chronic food poisoning and spent the majority of their week long holiday stuck in their hotel room. They described the food at the hotel, which made them all sick, as “frankly disgusting”. They were on an all-inclusive holiday but spent much more than they had planned to as they couldn’t bring themselves to eat anything from the hotel after getting sick.
These families can instruct a specialist travel litigation solicitor to pursue a compensation claim to remedy the out-of-pocket expenses they incurred as well as the cost of their medical treatment and the suffering they went through as a result of illness.
If you book an all-inclusive holiday and the services do not meet an acceptable standard you can make a claim against the company you booked the holiday with when you get back to the UK.
