Mesothelioma UK Patient and Carer Day 2015 gives patients, relatives and carers the chance to meet and share experiences with other sufferers, providing them with unbiased information on Mesothelioma as well as a platform to ask questions and raise any issues that they have encountered throughout their care.
Hosted by Mesothelioma UK, the event will take place at Macdonald Alveston Manor, Clopton Bridge in Stratford-upon-Avon on Friday 2nd October, 2015 at 9.30 am. The programme for the day will include information on understanding trials, patient stories, a “wellbeing session,” and information on fundraising for Mesothelioma UK.
As well as this, information and awareness will be provided on the dangers of exposure to asbestos. The lack of awareness for the dangers of asbestos is a worldwide epidemic, with studies revealing that one-in-three European workers are exposed in their workplace. Recent reports have revealed that 86% of UK schools are contaminated with asbestos. Mesothelioma causes more than 2,000 deaths every year, and by raising awareness to the dangers of exposure to asbestos, many families will be spared tragedy and suffering in the future.
Slater and Gordon have worked for many years on behalf of Mesothelioma sufferers and their families and are proud to be sponsoring this worthy cause.
The Trustee of Mesothelioma UK and Solicitor at Slater and Gordon said “Those who have attended other Mesothelioma Patient and Carer days have found them to be upbeat and informative. I am pleased that we can help by sponsoring what I hope will be fantastic day.”
