Slater and Gordon Lawyers helped to raise approximately £920 for national brain injury association Headway in a recent netball tournament at Milton Community Centre, Cambridge.
Ten staff members from the Cambridge office participated including Clinical Negligence Solicitor Tim Deeming, Personal Injury Solicitors Richard Gaffney, Andrew Zajac, and Trainee Personal Injury Solicitor Emma Gilbert and Legal Assistant Allys Kelsey.
Most of the team were new to netball so the experience was a steep learning curve for them. Despite dropped balls, accidental stepping on toes, and some over-ambitious attempts at shooting, the team got off to a strong start and won its first game.
Though the team lost the following games, its members remained enthusiastic until the end. Some members even suggested regular training sessions so that the team can be on top form for future tournaments!
Besides paying the entry fee, the Slater and Gordon team contributed to the event by donating a luxury chocolate selection box as a raffle prize, and by providing home-made cakes for the refreshments stand. All proceeds from the tournament, the raffle, and the refreshments stand went to Headway.
Slater and Gordon Personal Injury Lawyers in Cambridge regularly support Headway at fundraising events and assist them and their service users on days out.
