Research Shows Divorce Trends in the UK

New research from the Marriage Foundation has found that the more money a couple have, the more likely they are to stay together and likewise if the couple stays together until their children leave home, this will boost their joint income by an average of 35%.

The research followed the fortunes of 40,000 households in the UK. Its research director, Harry Benson said, “People who earn more stay together, and people who stay together earn more. Income is both cause and effect of stability and breakdown.”

It may not seem surprising as money and debt problems often contribute to the breakdown of a relationship with the inevitable stress that this can cause and can often be cited as a reason for the relationship breakdown.>

However when a relationship does breakdown it’s important to get expert legal advice at the beginning.
