Trevor Sterling: London Marathon 2011 - Comedy, Fun and Inspirational

I had a very exciting week last week,  firstly I was very pleased to be appointed Chair of Headway West London and secondly,  I was delighted to attend the London Marathon with my colleagues from RJW.Russell Jones and Walker Solicitors were extremely proud to sponsor the 40 plus Headway UK runners at this year's Virgin London Marathon and congratulate them for their significant efforts and also all those from Headway for supporting what was a hugely successfully event and will no doubt have raised much needed funds to facilitate the continued support for Brain injury survivors and their families.Yet again the Marathon was a great success with so many participants braving the searing temperatures to raise money for so many deserving causes. It was amazing to see the array of costumes, some more bizarre than others including a London bus, a man carrying a washing machine on his back and countless Rhinos! However I am sure we were all particularly inspired by the performance of James Cracknell who incredibly, notwithstanding his brain injury following an horrific cycling accident in the USA, completed the Marathon in a great time. He is a fantastic ambassador for Headway and an inspiration to all those who have suffered a Brain injury. Please do look out for the various Headway activities across the country during ABI week 9-15 May, this is a chance to celebrate the vital and often unsung work of Headway's Groups and Branches across the UK, while at the same time raising awareness of brain injury and it devastating effects.Trevor Sterling is a partner in the London office of Russell Jones & Walker.  Trevor deals with all areas of Personal Injury, and specialises in serious injury claims
