We have expert Disability Discrimination Solicitors working across the UK. Many of our Solicitors have been involved in cutting edge disability discrimination cases & recovered millions of pounds in claims.
At Slater and Gordon Lawyers we feel that there is a perception that disability discrimination is not viewed as seriously as some other types of discrimination, for example race or sex discrimination. We aim to change this view.
Disability discrimination is common but many disabled people are not aware of their rights established under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and consolidated by The Equality Act 2010. The attitude of employers has started to change as a result of some high profile victories in disability discrimination claims, but these changes are slow.
We aim to make the disability discrimination claim process as simple as possible. If you think you may have a disability discrimination claim, the Disability Discrimination Solicitors at Slater and Gordon Lawyers can help you.
Just fill in our online discrimination enquiry form and answer some straightforward questions. Our Solicitors will then assess your prospects of succeeding in a claim and contact you with an opinion on the merits of your disability discrimination claim.
The scheme does not cover claims such as unfair dismissal, breach of contract or race or sex discrimination.
For more information see our legal advice guide about the Disability Discrimination Act which you can download and print, it’s called Access All Areas.

Slater and Gordon Lawyers are committed to tackling stigma and discrimination against people with mental health conditions, by challenging employers and service providers who discriminate against individuals with those conditions.
One in six UK workers are affected by a mental health condition (such as depression) at some point in their working lives. Despite this prevalence, lack of awareness is widespread, which gives often rise to stigma and prejudice. People with long term and severe mental health conditions (such as schizophrenia) are the most socially excluded group of people within society, with up to 80% in unemployment.
The Equality Act 2010 prohibits discrimination related to mental health conditions as well as protecting individuals with physical disabilities. The disability provisions in the Act cover a wide range of mental health conditions, including long-term depression and/or anxiety conditions. Disability discrimination is outlawed at work (including job applications) and in relation to the way goods and services are provided to consumers.
Slater and Gordon Lawyers have wide experience of the complex and sensitive issues involved in mental health discrimination cases. Our specialist Solicitors have successfully fought cases for people with mental health conditions.
Our Disability Discrimination Solicitors have produced two legal advice guides to help you. See Equal Treatment for Disabled People and Disability Discrimination at Work and Your Legal Rights.
