Jonathan is one of our most experienced Litigation Executives in the personal Injury department. He specialises almost exclusively in Police Claims and acting for Claimants.

Jonathan has 23 years experience of dealing with and advising on Police Claims and particularly claims involving loss of career. He has almost unparalleled experience dealing with claims involving loss of career and is considered one of our foremost pension experts as a consequence of the detailed and complex calculations he regularly performs. He also specialises in Police Training cases/Employers liability and injuries abroad.

Jonathan has dealt with just about every conceivable type of claim including cases in the House of Lords and Court of Appeal. He has acted for professional footballers, the Professional Footballers Association and instructed privately by Queens Counsel. He has dealt with traumatic amputations and multi million pound head and spinal injury claims.

Jonathan joined the London office in 1989 with a background in trade union personal injury law. He moved to Manchester when the office opened the same year and has been representing Police Officers in personal injury claims ever since. He has previously been involved in developing some of our bespoke case management systems as a consequence of his detailed procedural knowledge. He continues to have significant Client care responsibilities where he is the lead Police Federation Representative in a number of Forces. He also works closely with the medical profession helping to facilitate the best possible rehabilitation for injured clients.

Jonathan has received recognition for his excellent work in the Legal 500 recommendations, who mention that he is a lawyer who is "held in high regard".
