Experience Profile

Ian is a Clinical Negligence Solicitor at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Liverpool.

His particular expertise lie in birth related brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputation claims and urogynaecology.

He has extensive experience in dealing with group actions against the NHS and also deals with Judicial Review cases.

During his career, Ian has built up a nationally renowned clinical negligence department from scratch and as such, was the lead solicitor of the Royal Liverpool Children’s Litigation (also known as the Alder Hey Organ Retention scandal) which, to date, is the largest mediated settlement with the NHSLA.

More recently he became the lead solicitor in the George Rowland litigation that established a ground-breaking protocol for dealing with group actions against the NHSLA. Ian has provided extensive media commentary on issues surrounding clinical negligence.
