Alan is a Senior Solicitor in the Newcastle Criminal Department.  

His practice encompasses all aspects of criminal and regulatory law and Alan deals with a range of clients, including institutional, legally aided and private clients.  

Alan has successfully represented clients accused of the full range of driving offences including death by dangerous driving and careless driving.

Alan has extensive experience of criminal practice, having appeared in the Magistrates’ Court, Crown Court and Coroner’s Court. He specialises in professional misconduct and related criminal proceedings, having successfully represented a number of police officers and nurses.

He has successfully appealed cases to the higher Courts, including two successful judicial reviews to the Administrative Court and a number to the Police Appeals Tribunal. In conclusion, Alan is a very experienced criminal lawyer with a good track record of successfully representing clients during both criminal and misconduct investigations and proceedings.

Alan qualified as a Solicitor in September 2001. Alan is noted in the Legal 500.

Alan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Law at Middlesex University in 1997 and completed his Legal Practice Post-Graduate Diploma at Anglia Ruskin in 1998, obtaining a distinction.

Alan is a member of the Law Society.

Alan speaks English and is competent in only very basic French.
